Last Updated: May 26, 2026

1. Introduction

WizCut ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use any WizCut product or service (the "Service"), including:

  • WizCut Web — the web application at wizcut.com
  • WizCut for Premiere — the Adobe CEP extension for Adobe Premiere Pro
  • WizCut API — the programmatic interface

By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 WizCut Web — File Processing and Storage

When you use WizCut Web to process video and audio:

  • Uploaded Files: Your video and audio files are uploaded to Cloudflare R2 (EU jurisdiction) and stored there for the duration of the job lifecycle. Source files are retained while the job exists and are deleted when the job is removed.
  • Rendered Output: Rendered video files are stored on Cloudflare R2 and available for download. These are retained until you delete the job or your account.
  • Audio Extraction: Audio is extracted from your video files for speaker diarization analysis. The extracted audio file is stored on Cloudflare R2 alongside your source files for the duration of the job.
  • Proxy Videos: Lower resolution (720p) copies of your source files may be created for the browser-based editor. These are stored alongside your source files.
  • Diarization Results: We store the results of speaker diarization (timestamps indicating when each speaker is talking) and the generated edit decisions.

2.2 WizCut for Premiere — Audio Processing

When you use WizCut for Premiere:

  • Audio Files: Your audio files are temporarily sent to pyannote.ai for speaker diarization analysis. Audio files are processed in memory and are not permanently stored by WizCut or pyannote.ai. Files are deleted immediately after processing is complete.
  • Video Files: Video files remain on your local computer and are not uploaded or stored by WizCut or any third party.
  • Diarization Results: We store the results of speaker diarization analysis (timestamps indicating when each speaker is talking).
  • Audio Metadata: We collect and store metadata about your audio files, including file length and duration.

2.3 Transcription (Optional)

If you explicitly enable the transcription feature:

  • Transcripts: Audio transcriptions are processed and may be stored to provide the transcription service. This feature is opt-in only and will not occur unless you explicitly activate it.
  • Control: You have full control over whether transcription is enabled. You can disable this feature at any time.

2.4 Usage Data and Telemetry

We collect telemetry data about how you use the Service, including:

  • Feature Usage: Which features you use and how often
  • Performance: Loading times, processing times, and performance metrics

Analytics Provider: We use PostHog (hosted in the EU) to collect and analyze this data. PostHog helps us understand how features are used and identify areas for improvement.
