WizCut in Claude and ChatGPT

Edit your video podcast from the chat

Connect WizCut to Claude or ChatGPT and ask for an edit. Your assistant sets up the episode, you drop in the camera files, and WizCut cuts between the angles and renders the video.

Works with any app that can add a remote MCP server.

A lot of editing is errands. Make a project, upload the files, wait, check the cameras, render, download.

Plenty of people already have Claude or ChatGPT open all day, so we taught them to run those errands with WizCut. You ask for the edit the way you’d ask a colleague, and WizCut does the actual work.

What you can do from the chat

  • Start an episode

Say what you recorded. Your assistant creates the episode in WizCut and gives you an upload link.

  • Upload in the panel or by link

Drop your camera and audio files into WizCut’s panel right in the chat, open the link on the phone that has them, or hand over a Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive link.

  • Watch it work

The chat shows each step: syncing, detecting speakers, cutting, rendering. Your assistant sees it too, so you don’t have to tell it.

  • Check the cameras

When WizCut isn’t sure who’s on which camera, you get a short preview of each angle and a sample of each voice. Pick, confirm, done.

  • Render when you’re happy

Nothing renders until you say so. Ask for a calmer or busier pace first, or tighter pauses.

  • Watch, download, share

The finished video plays right in the chat, with a download button and a share link. Small fixes go to the WizCut editor, one link away.

What it looks like

WizCut’s views show up right under your assistant’s answer.

Step-by-step guide

Using another AI app? If it can add a remote MCP server, it works the same way.

Things to ask

  • “Edit the podcast we recorded today. It’s called ‘Episode 12: Starting over’. Two cameras and a mic recording.”
  • “How’s my episode doing?”
  • “The one who talks most is Anna, the other one is Jonas.”
  • “The cuts feel too busy. Make it more relaxed and shorten the long pauses.”
  • “Looks good, render it.”
  • “Just send me the finished video, no review needed.”

What it won’t do

Your assistant can’t move a single cut or pick a camera for one moment, and it can’t delete episodes. Those happen in the WizCut editor, and it gives you the link. It also can’t take footage from a YouTube or Riverside page. Upload the files yourself, or give it a link to the file itself, like a Dropbox or Google Drive share link.

For developers and automations

Everything the assistants do goes through the same WizCut API you can call yourself.

  • REST API

Create jobs, upload or import files, start processing and render with an API key. The OpenAPI 3.1 spec is there for code generators and agent platforms.

  • Signed webhooks

Get a call when a job needs someone to check the cameras, when the cuts are ready and when the video is done. Signed with the Standard Webhooks scheme.

  • Your own agent

Point any MCP client at the same server and authenticate with an API key instead of OAuth.

n8n has a verified WizCut node with a trigger for status changes. There’s no WizCut app on Make yet, but its HTTP module calls the API just fine: the API docs show every request.

Your account, your call

  • WizCut never sees your conversation, only the requests your assistant makes for you, like “create an episode” or “get the download link”.
  • Your video files go from your browser straight to WizCut’s storage in the EU, never through the chat.
  • Every connected assistant is listed under Settings → Connected apps, where you can disconnect it any time.
  • Your assistant only passes feedback on to us when you say yes. More in our privacy policy.

Try it on your next episode

Connect once, then ask for the edit in the chat you already have open.
